Mini Vacation: New York, N.Y.
So I don’t exactly have a crafty blog post for you guys this week, seeing as the weekend was a little random and unexpected: I made an impromptu visit to see B in New York City! He’s been there since last Tuesday and was supposed to come home Friday, but has had to extend his stay until Sunday. He called me Friday morning letting me know he had to stay, but that I could come up and visit him for the weekend. While yes, I was so excited to go to the big city and see his face, but I so much would’ve rather heard him call to say he’s coming home.
While B and I dated long distance for 3 years, it has become something we can deal with, but ever since he started working I’ve been getting used to seeing him every day (making this long trip tough). He was going to come home with me on Sunday, but has now ended up having to stay a little longer until Monday or Tuesday (ugh!!) AND New York is supposed to be getting a record blizzard!!! So who knows when he’ll be home!
Okay, enough about me complaining! I honestly had a wonderful time this weekend with him and ate a lot of pizza…like A LOT (Friday and Saturday); more than I should have! Both times we got pizza it was from Patzeria Perfect Pizza (right by the Marriott Marquie hotel at Times Square), from which I would highly reccomend a slice of the “tomato basil pizza”. We had lunch on Saturday at a Mexican restaurant, Toloache, and it was soooo good! In case you didn’t know I’m in love with anything avocado (I literally eat it by itself with olive oil and some sprinkled salt and onion powder on top). Anyways, after seeing fried avocado on the menu, I knew this was the perfect place to eat! In addition, I had the chicken tortilla soup (soo good) and B got the chicken tacos. Now let me tell you…his chicken was amazingly delicious within those tacos! The seasoning they put on them was really good, and the side of rice and beans was equally declicious; you must try this place if you’re in the city near Times Square!
On Saturday night B had initially wanted to take me out for a fancy dinner, so we made reservations, but ended up cancelling them to go eat even more pizza! That being said, I actually didn’t mind sitting in the hotel room and eating pizza with a glass of wine: all I wanted was to relax and hangout!
Before I had to leave, we woke up Sunday morning and grabbed breakfast at Blue Fin in Times Square. I got a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich, which was the bomb! Brandon of course had his pancakes with some delicious berries and nuts on top.
After breakfast, I had to say goodbye (insert crying emoji here). I had such a wonderful weekend with B: it was like a mini vacation for just the two of us! We mostly ate (hah), but I don’t regret any of it.
I’m sure a lot of you are wondering what’s going on with our wedding planning—and well, it’s going! Since B has been traveling for the past two weeks it’s been tough, but I do have some news for you guys next week! Stay tuned!
