Homemade PB & Bacon Dog Treats
I’m sure many of you know this about me if you follow me on Instagram, but I’m a huge dog lover! I have a small 3.7lb Chorkie named Portia, and she is my little girl! I’m super picky about what I feed her—from treats to dog food, so I thought to myself, why not make her some homemade dog treats so I’ll know exactly what is in them?! I took a look on Pinterest and found this recipe that I thought would be perfect! After mixing it up a bit by removing the carrots and using Quaker oats instead of oat flour, it still turned out wonderful!
What you need:
• 1/4 cup of chopped cooked bacon (cut up like bacon bits)
• 1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter
• 1/2 cup of water
• 1 tablespoon of honey
• 1 egg
• 1/2 cup of Quaker oats
• 1 cup of all-purpose flour
• Cookie cutter of choice (I used a shot glass…classy I know)
How to make this savory dog treat:
Step 1: Pour all ingredients into bowl. Stir until well mixed.
Step 2: Use rolling pin to flatten out dough to about 1/2 in. thick.
Step 3: Use cookie cutter of choice to cut out your shape.
Step 4: Place treats onto a cookie sheet and into oven at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
Step 5: Cool off and teach your dog a new trick with these treats!
This treat is Portia approved! I know your dog will love it just as much as mine!
