Gingerbread Cookies and Gift Tag Printable
I went on a full out baking session this weekend and I must say it was wonderful! I baked a little Saturday, and then some more on Sunday. Baking has never been my thing what-so-ever…and while still isn’t fully, I’m starting to get the hang of it here!
I baked these adorable little gingerbread cookies and thought I’d decorate them with little scarves and earmuffs (definitely winter appropriate)! In the past, I wouldn’t have even tried to decorate anything with icing since it was usually a fail, but this one seemed easy enough and it turned out looking good. In addition to the cookie decorating, I designed a sticker gift tag so they will be fully ready to hand out to our neighbors once complete! As always, I made it available for you guys to download!
How to decorate your gingerbread cookies:
What you need:
• Your favorite gingerbread cookie recipe
• Icing
• Sprinkles
• Glassine treat bags or small gift box
• ‘Tis the Season For a Cookie Diet Gift Tag Printable
How to decorate your cookies:
Step 1: Once your gingerbread cookies are baked, you can start decorating with icing. I chose a white colored icing so I could dye it with food coloring to my color of choice. This chart was a huge help!
Step 2: First, start drawing a scarf with your first color choice of icing. Next, using the same food coloring, draw on the headband part of the earmuffs.
Step 3: Use your second color of choice (I used white) to decorate the ziz-zags on the hands and feet, as well as the earmuff fluff!
Step 4: Once all the cookies have icing on them, you can decorate the headband and the scarf with sprinkles. Let the icing dry for up to 3 hours, or until it’s somewhat hardened.
Step 5: Once icing is dry, place your cookies into a gift box or treat bag and stick the free printable gift tag label onto desired place on the box/bag and it’s good to go!
The cutest little gingerbread men! I’m so happy with how they turned out and if I can do it, you definitely can too! Do you have any favorite holiday cookie recipes you like to make every year?
