DIY Mother’s Day Gift: Wall-Mounted Plant Holder
We have three more weeks until we celebrate all the fantastic moms out there! As long as we start brainstorming now we won’t get stuck searching for the perfect gift at the last minute. If there’s one thing I know my mom loves, it’s plants. Growing up we had so many plants around the house and she treated them as if they were one of her own children. I will forever remember the day I saw her talking to them! She loved talking to them and made sure they were getting enough love, just like her kids!
What makes this gift even more special is the fact that it was all made by you, making it even more special for your mom. However, after I made this plant holder I totally wanted to keep it for myself (I might make another one for our little home!).
What you need:
• Hexagon wood shadow box (found here at Target. If you don’t purchase this one, make sure the one you purchase has hooks on the back to allow for hanging on your wall.)
• Wooden alphabet letters (found here at Target)
• Spray paints (colors of choice)
• Wood glue
• Plant of choice (optional)
Here’s how to make it:
Step 1: Spray paint the hexagon shadow box and letters. Let dry.
Step 2: Once everything is dry, glue the letters onto the edges of the box. Let dry.
Step 3: Your Mother’s Day gift is all set and ready to be gifted! I thought it’d be nice to include a plant with the gift, so I placed one inside the box. Also, on the back of the hexagon wood box I purchased, you’ll see hooks that will make it really easy to hang up on your wall!
I know my mom’s going to love it (mom, I know you’re reading this (hah!)! Don’t forget to share your photos using #sharethelv! Happy making!
I love this and want to make it for my mom and mother-in-law! I was thinking about what to buy them all weekend 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration!
Hayley,
Yayyyy!! It’s probably my favorite DIY craft for mother’s day now…I kind of want to make one for myself too! I hope they love it! <3
