Birthday Cake Milkshake + Unicorn Straw Toppers (Free Printable!)
Hello Monday! B and I had a wonderful vacation, but it sure is good to be back! I can’t wait to share all of the photos with you guys and everything we did during our road trip! One thing we made sure to do was stop by a new ice cream shop in Palm Springs while visiting. This tasty ice cream shop is actually called Ice Cream & Shop(pe)…and I highly recommend it (shout-out to Krys from Melodrama for the recommendation)!! The birthday cake ice cream was my flavor of choice and my goodness it didn’t disappoint! So much so that it inspired todays recipe and DIY! I’ve been craving that birthday cake ice cream ever since I had it and I can’t stop thinking about it…so I took it upon myself to make my own, but in milkshake form!
Now, before I begin, I’m technically not supposed to be eating a lot of dairy (my stomach tends to disagree with it), but most of the time I choose to have it anyway. That being said, for this recipe, I thought I’d be kinder to my stomach and use dairy free ice cream and almond milk. Unfortunately, the cake mix that I used does contain milk ingredients so this recipe isn’t fully dairy-free, but it’s pretty darn close!
What you need:
This recipe makes 1 serving
• 1 pint of vanilla ice cream cream (I chose the So Delicious brand ice cream to be dairy free)
• 1/2 cup of Funfetti cake mix
• 1/2 cup of almond milk (again, I chose dairy free, but regular milk will work as well!)
• Blender
• Coolwhip (I chose the So Delicious brand)
• Sprinkles
• Straws
• Free Printable: Unicorn Straw Topper
How to make your milkshake and unicorn toppers:
Step 1: Pour the vanilla ice cream, cake mix, and milk into the blender. Mix well.
Step 2: Pour your delicious concoction into a glass.
Step 3: Top your glass with Coolwhip and layer on the sprinkles.
Step 4: Cut out unicorn toppers and tape them onto a straw.
Step 5: Place your unicorn straws into the glass and you’re ready to serve!
I can’t even with this milkshake! Not only does it look amazing and taste amazing, but this unicorn topper really finishes it off for me too! If I had a little girl, I’d totally be serving these at her birthday party…heck, I may even serve them at mine (throw a little booze in there)!
