7 Ways to Self-Care at Home
I don’t know about you all, but it has been extremely hard to focus on myself now that I have my 2 kids at home during this pandemic. So as you can imagine self-care hasn’t really been happening much. I decided I needed to take some time for myself just as much as I dedicate time to watching them.
If you follow me on IG you’ll know that I was let go about 2 weeks ago. My spirits haven’t been in the greatest place over this time, but I’m reminding myself that this is just a season that many of us are going through.
So self care is extremely important for me right now as you can imagine. AND it should be very important for you too! I know I’m not the only one at home with little’s all day. You need to take care of YOU too!
As a result, I am dedicating this week to self-care. Today’s post is to provide examples of 7 ways you can self-care at home. I’ll be following up with an Instagram story Beautycounter pop-up shop on Friday at 1 p.m. including some of the below ways I self-care at home as well as sharing all of the products I use. You don’t want to miss it! I’ll be doing a fun giveaway on there too!
Here’s 7 ways you can self-care at home
O N E — Take a hot bath, light some candles, and throw in a bath bomb.
This is honestly my favorite way of doing a little self-care. Nothing better than a nice hot bath these days to de-stress. I should listen to my advice and throw in a candle and bath bomb though, haha.
You can make your own bath bomb using this recipe here.
T W O — Paint your nails
Ahh, a fresh mani. Painting my nails has always made me feel more put together these days. My go-to nail polish brand is Aila. They are free of all of the terrible chemicals you’ll find in other nail polish brands. I also use their nail polish remover. It’s actually a 3-in-1 that removes nail polish, treats your cuticles, and promotes healthy nail growth.
Here are the links to what I’m currently loving:
• Supernova nail polish
• Shine top coat
• Nail Polish Remover
T H R E E — Do a facial mask
I had to do this one the other day. Washing my face for some reason hasn’t been a thing I’ve been dedicating time to and I think it’s because I’m not wearing makeup now that I’m just at home all day.
Dedicating time to taking care of your face is essential…especially for me so I don’t get any breakouts.

F O U R — Do your hair and makeup
This one I’ve been slacking on, but when I do it I feel 10x better. I may not be going out anywhere, but it really gets me feeling more like myself.
F I V E — Grab a glass of wine, relax, and listen to your favorite podcast
Here are my favorite podcasts I listen to:
1. Risen Motherhood
2. Young House Love
3. A Beautiful Mess
S I X — Exercise
I’ve made a promise to myself ever since I went on maternity leave that I would work out at least 6-times a week for 12 weeks. It was a hard promise, but working out is what keeps me sane. It’s so important for me. I’m still dedicating at least 4-5 days a week at home now on the eliptical.
Getting your blood flowing during the pandemic is important especially because we’re at home all day. Try to do some yoga or go online and find some at-home exercises you can do.
My best friend Chelsea is a yoga instructor and is doing virtual yoga classes now. Check out all her class times here.
S E V E N — Unplug and write down a list of things you want to accomplish for yourself
This one has been something that I need to honestly do. There’s so much I want and need to accomplish right now for my career, like finding a job, while at the same time devoting my newfound time on my personal hobbies. Writing it down will make it so much easier for you so you won’t feel overwhelmed. The best feeling in the world is crossing it off once you get it done!
So who’s with me?! Let’s make this week all about self-care. Share with me on Instagram how you are self-caring this week using this story template. Be sure to tag me so I can see it and re-share in my stories!
And don’t forget to check out my live IG stories this Friday at 1:00 p.m.!
